Trying to Automate "Band 3 Gain" in Trac

Help! I clicked on the audio track fx button, selected automatable Track EQ icon, and then selected the Band 3 Gain for automation. The Band 3 Gain line shows in my audio timeline, and I can add points and adjust, but I cannot adjust while playing in real time with slider. The slider shows "Pan" and I cannot get it to change to the Band 3 Gain. Right cliking on the track and selecting the Band 3 gain does not help??

Nevermind! I just figured it out. I didn't realize that the envelope had to be adjusted with the FX window open and using the sliders in it. Duh!
