Does anybody know which camera performs better in lowlight?

I saw some nice lowlight test footage from HPX 170. And I heard the HVX 200A is suppose to have improved low light shooting.

They should perform extremely similarly, if not identically.

The 200a has improved low light as compared to the original 200, where the 170 was based directly off of the 200a.

They are rated the same ISO by Panasonic although some users like Kholi swear that they look different even though they supposedly use the same CCDs and processing. I have only shot old HVX200 and my 170, have never shot with a 200A so I can't say myself.

I shot with both and I can say that's the HPX is a liiiiittle better, by better I mean with a little less of noise. But has everybody now, hvx/hpx are not reputed for their "noise"

They are the same in low light, but processing is different. They do not have the same colorimetry and menu numeric settings are not all the same.

I've been shooting with an HVX 200Aand HMC150 side by side for the last week, with identical settings. This is anecdotal, not scientific, but at least according to zebras, the HVX did a little better in low light than the HMC. Perhaps differences in processing contributed, or the HVX's bigger lens... but to keep 'em matched, I had to have the iris on the HMC a tad more open than the HVX. Just a little, though.

I'm assuming, perhaps wrongly, that the HMC and HPX would be similar.

The HMC 150 was also another option for me. But as of now I'm still deciding. But It looks like the HVX 200A & the HMC 150 could very well be the two cameras I choose from. I'm surprised the HVX 200A was better than the HMC 150. Since the original HVX 200 was quite noisy for some people.

I guess they really incresed the low-light sensitivity for the 200A more than I thought.
