Made from a bird feeder from Lowes, a pencil cup from Walmart, a strainer from my kitchen, a swivel lamp part from a box in my garage, and some fake fur from Joanne Fabrics

The two inverted cone shaped objects inside the feeder that hold the mic are part of the feeder itself. I did unscrew and remove the top and bottom plates of the feeder. I also cut off the bottom of the small metal pencil cup and superglued the top end to the end of the feeder. Miraculously they were both exactly the same size!

I cut the bottom off of a plastic kitchen strainer and placed it inside the open end of the pencil cup and superglued that.

The total cost was approximately $29

is the shockmount really working out for you? It doesn't seem to "shockmounting" that much. It looks in my eyes, that its to rigid.

That's pretty cool! I was just thinking about making a DIY blimp / deadcat last night for shooting outside windy days and stumbled on this.. have you had it out on a breezy day yet? Very curious about wind noise reduction..

Actually, I removed one of the "cones" from inside and replaced it with an actual shockmount I already had, so the mic is suspended and isolated from the mesh cage.
