workflow in AE

Hello. Have yet another noob question. I use Sony Vegas for editing, but I'll be using after effects for the color correcting. do I edit the movie first and then bring it in After Effects or do I bring it in AE first and then open it in Vegas to edit?

Do your edit first then import it to AE.
It might take a while if you do it the other way around :)
