Sony NAB press releases

The Sony press releases for new product introductions are now live on the Sony site.

No new XDCAM-EX products, no EX5 or anything like it. No AVCHD products. Nothing priced/aimed at the typical DVXUser. Only new cameras are the PDW800 disc-based, and a new tape-based HDCAM-SR camera.

There are other announcements in there, about monitors and studio cameras, I was just summing up that there wasn't any new camera or deck aimed at the under-$10,000 crowd.

I was really hoping they announce an upgrade to Vegas. Maybe later in the week or maybe they don't normally do that at NAB, I don't remember. I am really hoping they upgrade it to take advantage of the GPU and smooth out the AVCHD processing. And all that in a 64 bit version. :)

Well, I guess, but that would be weird, because they scheduled a press conference for 2:00 today, so I don't know what sense it would make to go announcing things when you've already had the press and then dismissed them.

Lol, well that's Sony for you. They just announced Vegas 9 Pro.
