I am using Quicktime Pro to record video from my HVX 200 directly to disk. My camera shoots in DVCPRO HD by quicktime is converting it to .mov

Am I losing quality capturing with Quicktime Pro?

If I am shooting variable frame rates using the HVX 200 will Quicktime's conversion to .mov file limit its use after importing into FCP?

Quicktime files are movie files.

However, I don't believe you can capture DTD using QuickTime Pro and the HVX200 for DVCProHD footage.

A program like onLocation, HD Monitor, Scopebox, or VeeScope is needed with the DVCProHD codecs installed.
