I'm seeing some used Letus Extreme 35mm DOP adaptors on eBay, but they don't specify that it's for use with the HVX200A. Do those adaptors work with any camera, or does Letus make different versions (sizes?) for different manufacturers?
The one I'm looking at sounds like it was used with a Canon XHA1. Will that work with my HVX?

You can use it with any camera, but for the HVX, you'll need the HVX200 optimization kit. I bought mine new, and added the optimization kit for $199 more. But I think to buy it separately it's around $300.
It will work without it, but I've heard it's not rccomended

You don't need the HVX200 optimization kit. It's nice to have if you have the $350.00.
The optimization kit includes a custom achromat lens and a 82mm thread ring specifically designed for the Panasonic HVX-200(A).

What you do need is the 82mm thread ring. $40.00 at:

What about just using a step down ring from 82mm to 72mm. Its not ideal, but a step down ring only costs $5.

can anyone give any more information on having or not having the HVX optimization? looking at buying a letus without optimization for the HVX--what's the difference besides the ring? does it look /that/ much better?
