I just bought the HVX-200A and shot some footage. I know how to log and transfer using FCP to get the footage. The problem I am having is getting the camera to go into the mode so that my mac can even read the P2 card. Is there any reason that the camera would go from camera mode -> VCR Mode -> Camera Mode and just skip PC mode?

In VCR mode, you have to push and hold the button to go into PC mode. Otherwise if you just push it you'll go back to Camera mode.

hold for at least three seconds. To exit PC mode, you have to power off.

To get the HPX170 into PC mode for access via USB you hold the MODE button on the camera for 2-3 seconds. But, what is the proper way to get back into CAM mode?

I've been disconnecting the USB cable, then turning the camera off and then back on. There must be a more eloquent way!

Thanks for the tips.

Not really, however you should turn the camera off first, then disconnect your cable. And, before that, if you are using FCP, eject the No Name volume by dragging to the trash or hitting the eject button in FCP. I believe in Windows you just need to stop the USB device like with anything else before you disconnect. You will still then need to turn the camera off, then back on.
