This is a large compact Canon with 12Mp CCD sensor, 28mm-336mm equivalent lens, optical IS, and 720p video to 25Mb/s H.264 with the same or slightly less compression than the 5DM2 (note 25Mb/s camcorders record 1080p60 or 1080p30 for 2 or 4x the compression). AE lock but otherwise same limitations as 5DM2.

720p frame is less than half the size of 1080p frame (920k pixels vs. 2070k pixels). This camera is recording 720p30, the HDTV standard is 720p60. Some consumer camcorders from Sanyo and JVC record 1080p60, most do 1080p30 recording 1080p24 in a 2:3 pulldown.

Recording 720p30 @25Mb/s is half the compression of a Canon HF S10/100, similar to what you'd have in an HMC150 with 720p30 recording.
