Anyone run into any problems, losing footage, using systems like the MxM card adapters? Maybe we can keep a running tally of how reliable the 3rd party solutions are, vs. Sony's SxS Cards.
( I just bought 4x MxM card adapters for the EX1 I just bought and should be arriving this week - so, I'll be contributing if I see any problems.)
Maybe we could turn this into a sticky?
P.S. If you have problems, losing footage with Sony's SxS cards, don't hesitate to post, as well.

I've been using the kensington adapter and ultra II cards for a while now and have not had any lost footage or failures so far. So let's hope it stays that way :)
I have never used the mxm cards so cant comment on that.
only report I've heard...stress HEARD...is that the red light at the door stays on a bit longer with the sdhc cards, and you MUST wait for it to turn green or you'll corrupt data

Hmmm... looking forward to checking that out. It will be interesting to see if the claims that the 3rd party cards aren't as robust as Sony's cards holds any water.

The cards are rock solid, but only use class 6 SDHC cards in your adapter.
If you don't, you might get the restore error. Kingston class4 gives me restore errors when shooting HQ 30P, Sandisc HC not.

We will be testing the 3rd party cards as well. We should be receiving them by the end of this week.
Base on our Customers:
So far there have been no complaints on the cards. But there are still some customers that want that peace of mind and will only purchase the SxS cards. Some will only want to use the Sony brand too!

I have been using the KxS and MxR card adaptors and 16gb Sandisk Ultra II SDHC cards in my EX3 since January and have only had 2 restore media messages and not 1 second of lost footage. I have shot more than 150 hours of footage with the 3rd party cards.
I have used and experienced the following:
KxS : Kensington Adaptor with Sandisk Ultra II 16GB: 0 lost video, 0 corrupt files, 0 restore media
DxS: Delkin Efilms with Sandisk Ultra II 16GB: 1 case where the camera stopped recording and threw a media error. No lost footage, just the hassel of a break in the recoding for a few seconds as I switched slots and started recording again.
Please note, at the moment, and I say only at the moment because in the future it is very possible that these three will start modifying their adaptors and become more unique, but at the moment, the ONLY difference between MxM, MxR and SDxSDHC (aka HxS, the Hoodman adaptor) is the sticker and place of purchase. Otherwise they are all identical adaptors so any/all results of these three should really be considered a single group.

I just shot all day on 2 MxRs w/ 2 16gb Ultra 2 Sandisks The client asked "Don't you ever have to change the tapes or the batteries?"
and then I gave an evil laugh.
