Ive been picking away at this system for a while and thought I would post a few pics. The rails are made from Fiber Glass Ski poles. They need to be painted of course and the oversized MKH 70 Shotgun mic is there as a joke. Although it can mount up as shown, I would never do this.

The shoulder pad is off an old Panasonic Tube Camera. The rig is comfortable to run and gun with, but the monitor puts too much weight on the front end making it a bear to hold for more than 10 or 15 minutes. Im working on a way to make the shoulder pad/camera shoe assembly positionable so I can transfer the center of weight, towards the back, as needed. The sliding assembly will also allow for the center of weight to be placed over the Camera shoe, (which is in front of the shoulder pad) for quick tripod mount-ups, or the shoulder pad.

I was able to mount a zoom/iris/focus wheel right in front of the right handlegrip. Although I will probably never need the focus with an adapter on the rig, the zoom can be operated with my thumb, with ease. From the left handlegrip, I can thumb the focus on the lens without losing control over holding the thing.

I found a PVC Pipe hanger to mount up the Letus Economy with. It will be painted in the finished version. I cannot see spending 100 bucks for a mount that will only provide cosmetics to the application.

The poles are pretty sturdy. I dont know if I would push them longer than 18 or 20 inches, but they dont really have any flex. They are 19/32's and seem to mount right up to most standard rail systems. Cinevate clamps are a little sticky, but it does slide without damaging the poles exterior.

The anton brick is actually mounted on an old Gold Mount Plate and provides me with counter weight, as well as plenty of power to run the FS100, Camera, Monitor, and a light if needed. There is also plenty of space to mount up a wireless kit or two. The BeBob box under the camera can either carry the firestore, or a Lectro wireless xceiver kit.

Enjoy.
