Hey guys,
I have not purchased a HV20/30 yet and have been trying to decide between it and the HF100 (to not have to mess with keeping up with tapes). I guess my question is simply, why did you guys go with the HV20/30 instead of the HF100...
Perhaps I am wrong on this (and correct me if I am wrong), but if you shoot 720 on the tape with the HV20, you cannot use it as a deck to capture in FCP (or any other software)... is that right? I guess to me it just seems easier to use the HF100 so that it is shooting on hard drive which I believe could just be pulled into FCP?
help me out, there are alot of issues in that little post

Why did you guys go with the HV20/30 instead of the HF100?Marginally better image quality and avoidance of AVCHD.

Check out the other threads on the comparison between the two cameras. If they don't put you to sleep, you may come away with enough information to make The Decision.

thanks for the help... i really appreciate it.
now the issue is whether to wait on the dv40 or just go for the dv30...
who uses the pulldown? how complicated of a process is it?

I'd be much more interested in the HF100 if it had a viewfinder. I can't see well enough up close to use an LCD for shooting, without wearing glasses.
