The screws on the 300 are incredibly tight. I'm afraid I'm gonna strip
the heads. Has anybody mounted the Zacuto Zephyr on their 300?

Also, can you use the Zephyr with the F/AJ-D700 tripod mount?

Love to hear how you did it....

Make sure you're using the Zacuto Zephyr 300... it works fine if you had the right Zephyr ;D

I mounted the Zephyr 300 on our HPX300 that's going to NAB. Screws are in there good for sure. Used acetone to get it loose but I damaged the original plastic plate in the process. I did manage to get them out without stripping the screws though, just had to find the right size screw driver.

Craftsman has a wratchet screw driver that allows for a short distance to the thumb that is holding it against the screw head, and the wratchet gives just the sweetest amount of torque to loosen the screw. Yes even I can do it and not strip the screw head. Our engineer who has had years of time on set, owns his own Varicam and been around the block more than once showed me this little trick screw drive and it is so simple.

Hope this helps,

I used a small Whia driver to remove the Panasonic screws and install the Zephyr 300 on mine.

The Panasonic screws are definitely on tight. They each made a snapping sound when loosened.

Same experience. But once mounted the Zacuto Zephyr 300 is peachy.
