Im about to get a HVX/200, the prices have dropped so much over the last few months that Im finally able to put down the DVX and move in to HD world. I got the camera all lined up but Im wondering about the P2 cards and how much footage you can get on a 16 gb card, and with transferring the film for mac is there a certain card reader. I've only come upon (PC) cards.

record times are listed here for the 16GB p2 card: http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?displayTab=O&storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&itemId=121057&catGroupId=32501&surfModel=AJ-P2C016RG
how much are you spending for your hvx200? also curious as to why not get the 200a or hpx170?

I'm told for uncompressed HD 1gb per minute. I just purchased a HPX170 get it next week. A lot of people use powerbooks which can read the p2 cards or card readers for newer macbook pros or PC laptops. Also, you can use the camera hooked up to your PC/MAC via firewire and import that route.

Just to clarify, the cam shoots DVCProHD footage, not uncompressed HD. At the maximum is runs about 100 mbps or about 1 GB per minute.
