removing blemishes

can a small blemish, or other unsightly mark, be removed from an actors face within a scene, using after effects?

If so, can someone please post an example

duplicate the layer, blur a bit (if it helps... sometimes it makes it obvious), move it position just enough to cover the size of the blemish and mask... keyframe or track as needed.
