well, the double-wheel on the angle track is something i don't think i've seen...seems like the movement would be silky smooth...where did you get the wheels?

yeah, the wheels work really good on this dolly. I was thinking about making it with the skatborad wheels but I found these wheels at my dad's company so I used these instead.

what are the wheels intended for at your dad's company?

I'm not really sure what thay are for. I told him I was looking for wheels so I can make a dolly system and he got these wheels for me.
He doesn't use these wheels at his company so I think he just got them from another company or from one of his friends.
I'll ask him next time if you wanted to know more about it.

I would love to make one like this. Straight metal which makes it weigh more making it more sturdy. Even tho I can weld like a factory robot I don't have a welder any more.
I went to Home Depot to check, and the welder I want is like $450!
It's harder getting my wife's aproval for that then building a firescape for a skyscraper!
Does anyone have the winning lottery numbers?

I seen those exact wheels where i work. It's used on a big paper cutter thats on a triangler track. I've been working there for five years and never payed much attention to them until i saw this thread....

that's ture, I've just used metal because it was lying around. But if I ever make another one I think I will make it in aluminum so it's lighter.

also, if you are going to make a dolly with 3 wheels like this "T" base plate dolly, I can say I wished I made a 4 wheel like an "H" base plate dolly for more stability. (I'll probably make one soon again so lets see how it turns out)

it's good to know what they are really used for. I can't imagine using other wheels for this dolly so I must be lucky that I got them.
well actually, I must of be lucky for getting these wheels and being able to use the Microdolly in the past.
Because I could have past away just like you did if I never saw the Microdolly....

I wonder how well these wheels would take a curve track?

I don't have curve tracks and never tired it on them so I can't say, but I've seen the Microdolly do curve tracks on their video. which is suprising because the wheels don't rotate. so these might do the same...but I'm not sure.
