1st test with 100 ft. cable and DVX. Wanted to see if it ran smooth. I think the sideways jerks are due to 24P at 1-48th shutter speed.

Spent about $100. Mostly the cable and aluminum. I added a 10 lb. weight to keep it from rocking. The cable is vinyl covered 1-8th inch, 840 lb. strength.

when you have it up, did you ahve to keep it in tension a lot? I am concerning about the sag.

Yes, I keep it pretty level by using one of those ratchet tie down units. I put cable clamps on each end of the cable. This is the only potential weak spot. The vinyl tries to pull off the wire. Clamp it good!!
