Okay guys so i did the upgrade on my HD for my FS-100. Everything works fine, no problem!

But after rereading the walkthrough posted on this site, i noticed i did forget one step. That step is actually putting the little metallic metal square that is on the original harddrive to the new harddrive?

Now i have called Focus Enhancement, Video Guys, and B&H but nobody could provide me with any help?

My question is, What does this metallic square really do? Focus enhancement says they dont sell individual parts, so does anybody know where i can buy this part? or something equivalent? what are the dimensions of the actual square? *no longer have the actual square anymore

The last thing i want to happen is my fan failing or even worse my Firestore F ing up because of it?

Any information would greatly be appreciated. Thanks...

is it a sheet-metal that wraps around the hard drive to keep it snug and fit into the compartment?

no, not the one that is held down by 5 screws. Its a small and inch or so big and its usually stuck down on the harddrive itself and not the casing

If you have either IDE, SATA, or even SS hard-drive, if it fits in the connections snug tight, you're good to go. Other than that, you might have a proprietary hard-drive, and I have no idea what you're speaking of.

sorry, man.

you have to affix the metal plate to the new harddisk, because it prevents the fan from twitching.
