I was excited about the new EX CLIP BROWSER 2.5, but after trying it out I discovered that now my Sony Vegas 8.0 Pro is unable to import the re wrapped MXF clips (exported using the option I always use: Export>MXF for NLEs).

Interestingly enough, somehow the new clip browser makes somehow bigger MXF files, ie:

With the old XDCAM-EX-CB 2.0 a 62,5 MB MP4 original file was rewrapped into a 62,7 MB MXF file (that worked like a charm in Vegas Pro). But now With XDCAM-EX-CB 2.5 the same 62,5 MB MP4 original file is re-wrapped into a 65,8 MB MXF file that is unrecognizable by Vegas Pro 8.0

I just had to roll back to version 2.0 :-(

Does anybody has any idea why is this happening?, does it make any sense to you?, why couldn't Sony get it right???

No idea about the rewrapping, but the original bug where splitting an XDCam clip into smaller clips making invalid clips that crash Adobe Premiere still exists across 3 version updates.

Works fine here.

Confimed problem here too (on 2 different Vista PCs). After exporting to MXF in the same way I always have, I imported into Liquid 7.2 and all the clips come in as 9sec 15frame in length. This was with both 1080 25p HQ files and SP (1080 50i) files.

Sony's MXF Viewer seems to play them full length fine but they fail in the NLE.

Liquid now also seems to think these MXF files have 4 channels of audio as well, in previous versions the MXF file properties only show 2 channels.

Something is wrong with it for sure.

Goes hunting for a copy of V2 again....

Anyone have any idea of how to make sure Sony know this problem exists? Who should we contact?

I had the same problem with Ex Clip Browser 2.5 and Vegas pro 8.0a.

I 've upgraded to 8.0c, it works perfectly.
