I have a dvx 100B, and I've been using a Manfrotto brand tripod, made in Italy. It's a 3021BPro, 69.3 inches high, 5.3 pounds, with a 501 fluid head. I do mostly nature video, a few concerts and interviews, and this tripod-plus-head has been just fine. . . .all for about $350.

I use this one:

Not the greatest tripod in the world but it's very nice for the money. The only thing i don't like is that it's heavy. A VERY smooth fluid head and very durable.

as Boris the blade/Boris the bullet dodger said ..."heavy is good". makes it more stable...dont want a flimsey tripod. I use this. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/243272-REG/Davis_Sanford_PROVISTA7518B_Pro_Vista_Tripod_with. html#specifications

Good for what i need. Quite smoothe...and cheap.

use the search function
after searching you'll know most people are using the Manfrotto 501 or 503.
so it's up to you if you want to get the 501 or 503
they are really good.
some people say the 501 won't handle the weight when you use 35mm adapters and start adding weight but it works just fine. I have no problem at all.
I'll recomend the 501.

I have used both the 501 and 503 and actually dislike them. It's not that they are filmsy or anything, I just don't like the way they are set up. Fore example, just they way that knobs feel and the way that the leg pivots are designed I don't like. I much prefer my Libec LS-22 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/328516-REG/Libec_LS_22_LS_22_Aluminum_Tripod_System.html) over the 501 or 503. Plus it is cheaper.
