I have a small problem here....timewasting....I lost a harddrive with backup footage, converted from P2 via P2LogPro into QT.
Luckily I have a backup because I always transfer my P2 files with the 2 apps:
P2LogPro AND P2CMS.
So now I have these folders called " CONTENTS" but the "outside" .xml file belonging to each of those folders is missing. *ouch*

No big deal, I can still import the folders into FCP and manually drag the 4 audio tracks under the video but I would prefer to reconvert the files into QT files like P2LogPro does without having to use FCP and do it manually.

Does anybody have an idea ???

I have 18 full P2 card-folders here and having to manually drag each of the 4 audio tracks into a timeline for each clip in each folder sounds like punishment and a waste of time.

Do you mean the lastclip.txt file is missing? There are various methods for recreating the lastclip.txt manually if you do a search for it. Why can't you just convert them through P2logPro again?

DVFilm Raylight (http://dvfilm.com/raylight/mac/index.htm) for Mac will make Quicktime reference files of the mxfs that will play in Quicktime or FCP and you just have to keep the original mxfs. You can download the demo to see how it works.

Best,
Andy

Thanks Andy,

yes that lastclip.txt file is missing too but also the one P2CMS creates which ends with .xml.

When I direct P2LogPro to the folders it says " nothing to import"

i tried raylight´s demo also and it just crashes when I try to load these folders...

the files are all locked as well ( each .mxf file has a lock to it) should I maybe unlock them before? FCP imports them fine.....
each folder has 6 subfolders:
Audio
Clip
Icon
Proxy
Video
Voice

I dont know what sort of file P2LogPro needs to re import the .xml files , is it the lastclip.txt?

thanks again for your help!

I found the reason why P2LogPro didnt reconvert the files:

I had made the backup of each P2 card into the same folder, carefully making sure that before I rename the "CONETNTS" folder by adding a "-1" "-2" and so on.....

by simply removing that "-1" all went well and the files are imported and seen.....
