I heard for someone (who I can't name because you won't believe me) that they had heard from someone else (who they couldn't name) that there might be a rumour coming up about a firmware update rumour, they said the rumour about the rumour was planned for the 5th of April, but they weren't sure as they had just guessed at a random date - but they did say that the person (who they couldn't name) had said that this rumour was definitely a real rumour about a rumour and not just a fake rumour about a rumour.

No I know all this sounds very tenuous - especially so as I made it up just now - but I think this should offer us some hope and I don't think I am going too far to read into this that we will definitely be getting full manual controls, variable frame rates and audio level controls for the 5D video mode.

This, I am sure you will agree, is fantastic news !!  :beer:

Roll on the 5th of Arpil !!!

hmmm ... I think you may have to post a link to a German website as well for full "rumour authenticity" effect.

but its sounds great so far:dankk2:

There was a link on a website that took you to another website that had a link to the rumour of the rumour, but I forgot the website address, plus the rumour of the rumour on the final website was taken down when I tried to look at it, it just looked like a normal website that had nothing to do with cameras - probably Canon putting the legal pressure on for them to take it down.

The fact that Canon felt the need to take legal action adds more weight to the idea that we are definitely going to get full manual controls, variable frame rates and audio level controls

Just curious, what camera models or companies have come out with a serious firmware update in the past? Wouldn't they make more money by coming out with a new camera as opposed to giving us more for nothing?

Nice. Now there are a handful of people looking through trash cans in Toronto...
