Hey,
Is there any kind of expression that I can write that will only play every nth frame. I am trying to make a time-lapse out of footage that is an hour long. I don't want to just speed up the footage though.
I would do this on my HVX if it was not broken in Michigan... waiting for the repairs on that one.
I am shooting on an XH-A1. Thoughts?
Thanks

"If you simply change the speed of the clip to say 2000% and leave frame blending off, it should accomplish the same thing. If you want it to only sample so many of those frames a second, use the 'Posterize Time' effect."

I asked the same question on another forum. I actually contacted a member who's got some amazing time-lapse footage but couldn't really answer the question. I'd really like to find some sort of detail info to remove 1 or more frames accurately and not guess.

Here's what you can do to save some time and figure out the expression later.
If you have Quicktime Pro installed. Save out a full-res version of your footage that you want to timelapse,
-open it up in Quicktime Pro
-File //export
-(Movie to Quicktime Movie should be selected at the EXPORT menu pulldown)
-click on the options button
-click on "SETTINGS" in the "VIDEO" menu
- Here you can alter the frame rate of your video per second in the "MOTION" menu. Unfortunately, you can specify what frame within a second that you want to play but if you set it to 3fps 4fps it will obviously play the first 3/4 frames first. Try it out.
Once you save it out You'll see that your video plays like a timelapse/stopmotion video. I hope this helps out or gives you another option.

P.S. Don't forget to set the appropriate compression type of other settings accordingly
