clip settings 24pa

I captured 24pa footage using the advanced pulldown on capture.
I brought the footage into final cut and the red line appeared on top so I had to render it. (working in final cut HD, by the way).
When I look at the vid rate of the clip, however, it still reads 29.97
the sequence is 23.98.
Is that right?

No, the clip should be 23.98 as well. You shouldn't have to render anything.

when you capture you footage may sure the pulldown works..if you don't see where advance pulldown in the window then is being capture as 29.97. the other thing is check on you render setting on the top left side of you timeline window
