warranty for Canadian buyers?

Trying to figure out from where to buy the DVX100-BP camera.
I live in Toronto Canada and I hear that if I purchase the camera from the US then the warranty will be void here in Canada. is that true?
I was going to buy it from B&H or Armatos...
Is there any authorized site where I can get the warranty for the camera to be eligible to work here in canada.

The prices for DVX are extremely expensive in Canada.

Vistek, Henry's?? They had that cam on for $2,600 four months ago & now they have shot up 3-400.00 bucks. Haggle with them. They will drop a couple hundred off the price.

Yes, if you purchase from the U.S. your warranty is void in Canada, (unless you want to ship it back to the States).

It is actually cheaper here in Canada for that camera than the U.S. right now, especially with the exchange rate. I don't know where your looking but try the two I mentioned and, more importantly, HAGGLE with them. If you don't, you'll pay the full sticker price!

I don't know what they are smokin over at Vistek but Henrys has got it on for $2,999.00 & they will likely drop it to $2,700.00.

& why the price has shot up like crazy over here in the last 4 months has me boggled. Just about everything conected to this industry has shot up 15-25%.

I was thinking of buying it from B&H or Armatos....but this warranty makes me not want to do it anymore. Ill head and try to hagle at Henry's.
