I know that JVC makes such an adapter, to allow the use of 2/3rds inch lenses on 1/3 bodies, but it soooo expensive. (Cheapest I found was $ 650 bucks)
Anyone know of a cheaper B12 mount to 2/3 inch lens ?

That's the adapter I used, and I thought it was dirt cheap. The Fujinon version costs $1200. Of course, it's the identical same product, it's just cheaper when sold under the JVC name.

I don't know if there are any others, that Fujinon is the only one I know of. Maybe Les Bosher can make one less expensively, I don't know.

but why would i need to use 2/3 to 1/3 ocx i will have FOV cropping rending any wide lens useless for its wide angle ....

You'd use a 2/3 adapter so that you can use the whole world of 2/3" lenses! Yes it'll be cropped, but that's unavoidable.

I used the adapter so I could use a 320mm Canon lens with the HPX300, which was astonishingly telephoto as opposed to the stock lens' limit of 77mm.

Obviously you're not going to use an adapter like that to gain more wide angle, that won't work. But you can get access to better/sharper glass and you can get a lot more telephoto.

Exactly my goal. Thanks Barry.
