has anyone ran into this or heard of this ???????? ive seen many complain about not being able to playback recorded footage but to only brush it off as a bad tape issue or moisture in the camera ... i pretty much positive now that premiere causing this issue ...

ive only had this camera for a few days ... shot footage came home ... and i first tested it out on using sony vegas ... worked fine no issues ... still could playback my footage ... was able to capture and edit ... peep the work ... http://www.hv20.com/images/smilies2/hv20-smilie81.gif this was dv sd ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96anuWn3aRY

but like i said that was a first test for vegas ... im a premier editor ... so i moved on to try it out with premiere ... and than the problems started ... premier is not recognizing the camera ... i dont know how or why its not caputeing the footage ... but i tried everything TRUST! changes tapes, changed modes, crazy different configurations, drivers etc ... and it wasnt working ... i initially blamed it on the cam and stuck it in the corner so i could take it back to canon for repairs ...

well ive been procrastinating with returning the cam ... and i just happen to turn it on today and its back working like when i first got it ... all my tapes are playing ... even the footage that I TRIED TO RECORD but the camera wouldnt playback anything more than the blue screen so i didnt know if it actually recorded ...

so guess whats the first thing i do after verifying that ALL my tapes are NOW playing back ...

i connect it to premier pro CS3 ... once again not recognizing my camera ... i adjusted a few settings to be sure its setup right ... and its still saying its not recognizing my camera ... but the controls lit up allowing me to play, rewind etc ... and as soon as i did that ... BLUE SCREEN ... i immediating disconnect the camera and try playback again ... and im back to get nothing but BLUE SCREEN AGAIN ...

PREMIER PRO CS3 IS CAUSING MY CAMERA TO FLAKE OUT ... or is it ...?>??????

DRIVER ARE FINE ... just as i stated earlier before using Premier i tested it out in Vegas and it worked fine ... device manager has my hv30 camera listed with no issues ... and i guaranteed if i connected to Vegas before premiere it would have worked ...

NOW has anyone ran into this problem ????? or maybe you were nieve like myself and didnt realize premiere was the root cause ...???????????

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh also after premiere crashed my cam ... i went ahead and just tried it in vegas ... it immediately recognize the camera but nothing but blue screen ... i then went back to premiere pro ... and now premiere is actuallly recognizing my camera but seeing nothing but blue screen ... http://www.hv20.com/images/smilies2/hv20-smilie49.gif

Why don't you use another capture software like HDVsplit which is free and then import your video to Premiere.

This is how I capture all my footage.
