No more time left to work on it, so this must do. Uploaded successfully :)

uploaded.

although i left this box unchecked: I permit DVXuser.com to use my script, without compensation, as they see fit to produce and/or for future promotion.

seems like that's giving up all rights...is this par for the course?

Believe me, we're not going to turn your script into a million dollar film and cut you out of the profits. :)

I was a little hesitant on that box as well. Not really sure what that means... but I checked it anyway :undecided

But hey, if they want to make it, why not?

of course not. i don't even think spielberg could make a million dollars from a short film today. as far as i know, there really isn't a credible paying market for them. there's barely a market for feature-length indies!

i'm still weary of that bit of legal-speak. sounds exactly like the facebook TOS that had everyone up in arms.

I didn't know you could upload multiple times till the window closes.

I just uploaded a more polished version.

Hey! It worked.

conlanforever
03-24-2009, 10:15 AM
Its probably not something they prefer, as they have to sort through them, but hopefully they'll give us a pass ;)

I did send a pm to Isaac to clarify which one to use.

Rustom Irani
03-24-2009, 10:58 AM
Ah! I see. In that case I must apologize for the inconvenience.

I thought a newer upload automatically gets rid of the older file.

Now I know.

Hmmm...actually I can't say that doesn't happen, it would certainly make it easier for them. It didn't occur to me.

Who decides who wins? is there like a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place etc. Sorry I haven't entered this ScriptFest before... it is all exciting :D

Well Natasha what they do is - On the Spring Equinox the participants must each gather their pet cats before their computer's webcam...

At that moment the scripts are read alloud by Isaac who sits upon a thrown of chocolate candy bars. The cats miow along to his reading... each 'miow' scores a point... the script with the most wins! (But furballs are deductable!)

It's a fairly complex system but ultimately proves fair!

conlanforever
03-24-2009, 03:10 PM
Natasha...while the cat ranking system has worked well in the past, I believe they're going with an alternate idea for this scriptfest.

After you read each script you'll rank it between 1 - 10 stars depending on how good you thought it was. The scripts with the highest average scores will win :)

The "READ" thread, in true western fashion, is being delivered by Pony Express. Should arrive in four to five days. Three if'n the weather holds.
