Just a real quick question. I am filming a documentary to be used on youtube only(vimeo won't fly with the customer for some reason).

How does this sound for youtube:

DVX-100B
4:3
60i footage
1/120th shutter speed
(i'll play with effects and artistic look)

Sound ok? or is progressive look better on the web?

Basically i just want the best quality footage to go onto youtube.

let me know if you guys have any tricks for youtube videos.

Thank you :dankk2:

YouTube does 16:9 now, so go for SQUEEZE mode. If you shoot 60i, you will need to deinterlace to post on YouTube... so shoot 30p at least, but shoot 24p if you like. You can post 16:9 native 24p H.264 on YouTube and it'll look great, no reason not to.

will youtube match the 24p frame rate? it won't re-encode it into 30p?

Yes, you can upload an H.264 at 23.976 and it'll stay that way.
