Greetings all. I am getting ready to send my camera off for a proffesional cleaning... Can anyone suggest a reputable service? What kind of issues should i be aware of with this process, this is the first time i have done this.
Thanks!
Ed

Also try Fox Valley Video Service in ILL. Haven't used them yet but talked with then and they're an authorized service center. Let me know how you make out...

how many hours do you have on the camera?
what made you want to turn it into the cleaning/repair?

Not many hours. Lens has dust in it and grinds when I focus.

I am at about 200 hours. I work at a resort and have about a month or two between Winter and summer seasons, figured now was the time to send it off. Plus must of the stuff i shoot is outside, mountain biking skiing/snowboarding etc. So it has had its fair share of mud and crud encounters. Just want to keep everything in great shape, and cant afford to send it off during the season.
Do you think its too soon to worry about it? Like i said i mainly want to keep it in good shape despite the tough conditions i use it in.

If you have the time/money I couldn't hurt. Where are you working, and why can't I get a job like that? :}

etathed,
let me know how it goes if you end up using the place in Brooklyn. I live in south jersey but dont mind the drive if the price and service is right.
