Just came across this, shamelessly scraped from a blog. Purportedly references ways indie's have raised some significant funds off the internet.


In the Spring, 2009 edition of the International Documentary Association's Documentary magazine (http://www.documentary.org/), is a great article entitled "Funds from the Madding Crowd" about the theoretical claim that filmmakers can make money off the Internet.

I've heard of this one before, but it's the only successful attempt I've heard of. And it's a special case for that particular project, since the demographic is clearly tied to it. But definitely an interesting story to look into, thanks for posting it.
