My first time purchasing camera, and I'm wondering what's the best, safest
place to buy brand new DVX100 B?

Try B&H Photo. They are one of the best and most reliable dealers you can deal with. I bought mine from Newgg, but I don't think they carry them anymore.

I got mine from Newegg. Had some problems with the payment/shipment, but I think that was an issue with my bank, not so much Newegg.
I tried ordering from EVS before I tried Newegg and they tried selling me on a canon xh-a1 instead. Wasn't too happy that they were trying to tell me what camera would be better for me.
But any of the sites listed so far are trusted retailers.

well when i got mine from evs they were really friendly. it depends on who your salesman was. but i just think that place is pretty sweet... you could always order on evsonline.com
newegg.com is cool too, i get a lot of parts from them... never any problems!

Mine is shipped and will be arriving on Thursday.
I bought mine from B&H Photo.
Online transaction went well.
GOt my confirmation and will be arriving on time.
Very pleased so far.
Love the way they answer all your questions as well.
I hear B&H Photo is awesome and it seems to me they are as well.

I've looked a lot, and everything advertised that is brand new and under 2K is a scam. There's plenty of them out there, but if you look at the reviews of the site, they are all scams.
Except for ebay. new DVX100b for less than 2K, but everyone says it's "grey market". If you don't care if it's grey market, the sellers have great reviews, the customers seem to be happy.

well i am not sure if i am supposed to be advertising this, but i bought my used DVX100b from the evs camera store here in LA. the guy there was really nice and sold me a dvx for $1000 and it was from rentals. i am not sure if anyone can get such an amazing deal but if youre in the LA area, check it out

less than 500. when i checked it was about 450 but it was in perfect working order and a few minor scratches

I am selling my DVX100B. It is in like new condition. Was used for a 10 day shoot and stored in our office after that. It only has 50 hours on it.
