I have a really bad idea for my PB-2600

Has anyone here ever attemped to mod their case? Let's not skip ahead to the part where I break it, say naughty words, and go buy a fancy one that costs too much money.
I have a PortaBrace 2600 that I love (and my HVX loves it too), but I find myself wishing it had a shoulder strap. I am considering drilling holes either into the side or through some of the ridges in the top/front to place rings/hooks/posts to attach a strap. Has anyone every tried anything like this and not failed miserably? Suggestions?

I have a strap kit that I bought for my storm case (i'll have to look, but am pretty sure that it is made by storm and has all the necessary components). If you are interested PM me. It's just sitting in it's original packaging as I ended up switching to much larger size cases. I had not intended to sell it but I will.
