Hi! I can't figure out for the life of me how to do this. I've got a layer with blue keyed out using keylight. The problem is some of the guy's shirt has blue writing that disappeared. So I want to create a mask, use that as keylight's "inside mask" and track something on the guy's shirt to make the mask follow his body movement. I've got the tracking data, but AE won't let me apply that data to the mask I created. And keylight won't allow me to select a mask on another layer other than the one it's keying for the inside mask. Anyone know how to do what I want to do? Thanks!

one of the limitations to ae is you can't apply tracking data to mask points. you can apply tracking data to a track matte though.

All you need do is apply the track data to a null and parent.

I do this a lot with Keylight and AE. What I do is go about keying out the blue/green screen. If there was corresponding colors in the clothing, all I do is dupe the clip, delete the Keylight effect, then apply the mask to that clip. That way, you have the masked area the has the same exact tracking info as the original. There's probably a dozen other work-arounds, I just found this one to be quick and dirty. Plus, it works with minimal work.
