so I shoot footage for a client on 24p normal. After capture, in final cut, the image was AWFUL until I removed the extra frames using reverse telecine in cinema tools.
I had read that 24p normal could be edited in 29.97 --- but the image had boxy pixelations (dark jacket with against lighter background was the main problem area) and was unusable.
So my question is would anyone ever use 24p normal without a pulldown? Is there ever a case where you wouldn't want to use reverse telecine?
and finally, why wouldn't anyone shooting 24p ALWAYS use 24p advanced?
(I know this topic is often discussed, and I am awaiting the dvx book in the mail, but I'd love a response because so many suggested that shooting 24p normal was totally fine)
