BLUE ARTIFACTS on Playback

Greetings Community,

I'm new to the dvx100b world. Are the artifacts below from dirty heads, or ... ? It seems to go away after playing a little while. And I can rewind and it may be there or not.

What is the leading cause of this and how do I fix?

Dirty heads, could be the record heads or the playback heads. Use a cleaning tape, then record some more footage and play it back.

or use the blank tape method. Get a brand new tape. Put cam in VCR mode...play the tape out to the end. discard tape (dont reuse that tape cuz u'd be putting back whatever dirt/artifacts u took off)
I;ve seen this method recommended alot on the boards b4 the use of a cleaning tape cuz cleaning tape is harsher. If this fails u can try the cleaning tape.
