1. What is the bit depth of AE? I found that you can set the "BPC" (bits per channel) up to 32, with 8 and 16 as your other options. So I guess it would take in the full information from Red Code 36 and its 12-bit depth... right?
2. About the BPC thing above, setting it to 32 will allow for more to done to the image with less rounding "errors" stripping away at your information, correct?
3. I am planning on working with 2k files for a 1080p final out. We will shoot on 4k, or maybe 5k but timing doesn't seem will work out for that. So I was wondering what to ingest into AE. There is that plug in for Premier already. Does that mean that AE also supports .r3d natively? If not, will I be able to work on 2k 4:4:4 files? Perhaps not all the time, but some VFX would be important enough for us to want to do things right and work with as little compression as possible.
Side question about current HVX project:
4. Would this be the best setting? I was affraid to set the framerate to 24fps and didn't see a 23.976, though it seems that it recognized the actual framerate. What about the colorspace? I am editing on Vegas.
