Can someone please help me real quick and tell me what .mov codec to use for exporting back into Vegas?
HVX200 (24Pa)
Exported from Vegas as 1280 x 720 (23.976)
Vegas project is set to 1280 x 720 (23.976)
Should I use MPEG-4? PNG? Something good enough for more tweaking in Vegas would be nice.
Thanks you!

i usually use quicktime animation (lossless). works fine for me, but i am a noob at ae. filesizes can get pretty large, though.

I just rendered an H.264 to check it out but it makes it way warmer and softened the crap out of it.
So is that within MOV?

are you exporting graphics or video? i usually just do graphics so i use the animation compression type for lossless.
for video i just go to cineform. i dunno if that's lossless, but it seems to work for me. if you don't have that then maybe something like dnxhd would work?
sorry i'm not much help.

You should be able to use the Raylight codec out of AE, no? Or, if it's CS4, you should be able to use the Media Encoder to export as P2.

I have CS3 and no Raylight. Or would that be done in some other way than through "export"?
Here is what I have:
Adobe Clip Notes
Adobe Premier Pro Project
Adobe Flash (SWF)
3G
AIFF
AU
AVI DV Stream
FLC
Image Sequence
MPG-4
Quick Time Movie
Wave

you should look into getting an intermediate because your current best options will result in large filesize and/or a borderline un-workability when you bring it back to vegas.
did you try rendering a small amount to quicktime with the compressor type set to "animation"? i know for a fact this works in vegas, but i haven't tried it for clips longer than 3-5 mins.

My shot is only 14 seconds long. I only rendered an H.264. I will try that today.

try comp>>add comp to render queue
i use pretty much the standard setting there, which is animation. works pretty well for me.
