I have done some more tests with my diy adapter, i have now made an achromat with 2 lenses i got from surplus shed plus i added a condenser.
the box was only held in front of the camera as i haven't got any way to attach it to my diy rods yet but i think the footage is getting there, i have a strange wobble effect in the footage though and i can't seem to sort it!

Looks pretty good, save the wobble. Did you have any settings on your camera set to auto? If so, that could be the source of your jello video.

Looks pretty good for a DIY.... Have you tried feeding the disk motor more power to get it to spin faster

yes, it looks ok until it reaches its full speed, i need to slow it down a tad, tried a bag of potentiometers from maplin (uk) but couldn't find the right one for good results

Ehhh, maplin saves the day.

Phone up the RS technical helpline, tell them what you need, and depending who answers the phone, and what kind of degree they did, they can calculate and find the potentiometer you need.

Tell them the battery your using and the motor voltage and current draw and they can work it out.
