How will Edius handle AVC Intra. Is AVC Intr long GOP ?

Yes. It has had support for avc intra since the broadcast days.
Very smooth.

AVC-Intra is not long-GOP, it's intraframe. And EDIUS handles it very well. EDIUS 5 supports Intra right now.

Yeah, but with Broadcast you had to buy the AVC-Intra decoder separately, IINM. Whereas in EDIUS 5 it's all included.
