Hi all, I'm an English Teacher in Japan looking to start and edutainment ESL company, right now I'm looking at making a videos that would include me standing in front of a greenscreen and teaching various points. While there is other videos like this they all more or less have that "boring teacher" feel to them. If I can I'd like to mix the teaching with as much entertainment as possible, less "teacher" and more "E! Soup" guy, or Mtv VJ. The videos are actually sets of videos so the students will be seeing a lot of me. If I can I want to be as natural/relaxed/humorous as possible. Like having your good friend teach you about something when he is ever so slightly drunk:beer:

Any tips/pointers/books that could help? I'm writing scripts now but I don't really know the best way to approach this and if/how its different from normal acting methods.

Thanks

If it is instructional than don't try acting at all. Do what you do when you teach a class. Try to engage the audience in the information. Keep it informational but try to be a bit informal. Then again, if you are doing it for an audience in Japan, they tend to like things a bit more formal.

I would think you might be able to find some people over there who have done some of these before who might be able to guide you better for your specific target audience.
