Adapter usage question

Hello guys,

I've been using my Ultimate (EX1) for quite some time now and I wanted to clarify some basic usage questions.

1) Is it ok to use the camera's ND filters or to put filters on the mattebox ?

2) I get the strongest peaking pattern when both the camera's and lens's irises are full opened. When I start stopping them down the peaking start to fade away. Does this mean i'm loosing focus somehow or is it normal.

3) When I change focus on the 35mm lens from , let's say infinity to a few meters i notice that if i change a bit the focus on the camera the peaking pattern gets stronger ( The peaking pattern was already the strongest at infinity with the backfocus properly adjusted).
Does this mean that the focal plane changes somehow when changing focus ?


4) If you have an Ultimate, how high can you go with the shutter speed before seeing the grain on the GG. Mine can't go higher than 1/125 or 1/250 at 25fps. I think that at 60fps is even worse.

I did some tests with the EX1 using the built in NDs and noticed that with the 35mm lens collimated to infinity without teh ND on everything is sharp and ok. As soon as I put on the ND the infinity focus becomes fuzzy and unclear.
Anybody else noticed this ?

Also I see nobody is commenting on the Letus problem. I'm sure i'm not the only one with this issue and i'm starting to think that it is a problem with all the ultimate adapters. Or maybe not a problem just overhyped marketing.
It would be great if somebody could prove me wrong.
