What are these black dots appearing in the image?

The noted black dots appear predictably for a couple of images in sequence. When I power off the camera, without changing the lens, and take some photos the next day, there's usually a black smudge in a different part of the image.

I use that rocket air cleaner on my lenses, mirrors, and sensor regularly.

Starting to wonder if it's a defective camera... or a digital photography phenomenon.

It does look like dust. You might want to have it cleaned.

Dust on your CCD. Get it cleaned at a good camera shop.
