RULES UPDATE / CLARIFICATION:
You have a total of 6 minutes and 10 seconds for both the DVXuser Leader and your film.

The Leader MUST appear before your film, at the beginning.

You may modify the leader in the following ways:

Sound - You may discard the supplied audio and instead have silence, music, ambient noise, dialogue from your film, or any other audio that more appropriately sets the tone of your film or helps you tell your story.
Black and White - You may change the leader to black and white (only, not green or red, etc.) if doing so helps set the mood of your film or helps you tell your story
"Made For" Text - you can, and are encouraged to actually, add "made for DV/Xuser Loss fest", "made for" "Official Selection DVXuser Loss Fest" "Official Selection" or text along those lines to the leader.

Ask if you plan to modify the leader in any other way.

There are 10 days left before the final upload deadline for people to take advantage of this clarification. Help us spread the word. If you know people that already downloaded the leader or are using the leader from lest fest, please forward this link to them.

One more question about modifying. What about applying an effect like a TV effect? You know how the Warner logo changes for the Matrix, for example?

Yeah. Go ahead.

As long as it's for a good reason these kinds of modifications are OK, just keep running them by us.

What if I want to have a devil baby burst out of the logo and say: "Budah, Budah, Budah, Budat's all folks!"?

That old chestnut.

Question, is this thing supposed to be 10 seconds, and for some reason it's only showing up as 00:00:09:09 on mine?

You running 24 FPS?

Doesn't matter, I call close enough! :Drogar-Love(DBG):

23.976 ... not enough to throw it off THAT much, as it's nearly a 10% difference, but no matter ... just another second I'll add to the credit grab I suppose. :)

23.976 ...Yah, that's what I meant. Picky picky! :)

I remember that mine was off a hair last Fest as well. No worries.

I don't think the leader was exactly 10 seconds, so no worries.

Yeah you get like 15-20 frames extra depending on your frame rate.

Merry Christmas :)
