Surely someone out there has this inexpensive mattebox from them, which is adjustable vertically to compensate for the optical center of the lens. im waiting to hear back from them as to what the exact center range is for the vertical adjustment, but it seems like a better solution than rail-rising or dropping, as long as a its halfway decent product. the only drawback i can see immediately is no swing away, and 4x4 filters instead of the 4x5.6 tray size, which has become somewhat of a standard, but then again, 4x4 glass is a lil cheaper, and unless you're using lenses with incredibly large front glass, 4x4 would cover most 35mm slr lenses we use with the 35mm adapters to begin with. this would allow the box to be used without the 35mm adapter on, and using the stock lens only, which also makes it more appealing. anyone got this and has pics on different setups with it?

I picked up the Cinevate Mattebox on ebay for a steal. I use it with my SGblade set up. It barely gets low enough in the current setup, which is really just temporary. I hope to soon put the blade in a snorkel up position and mount the mattebox on the lower rails, raising it up to meet the lens on the upper set of rails. But for now, here's how it looks:

I've got the Cinevate and was going to sell it to get the RedRock but the more I read about the RR I've decided to keep the Cinevate. RR has to be at the end of the rails (no rail clearance) plus the 4x4 adapter sounds a little funny. The Cinevate weighs nothing and can use 3x3 filters as well (dirt cheap and fit all my zeiss lenses). My 2 bits

And you might just see something like a height adjustable swing away from us in the near future :-)

Hi Dennis,
I saw the Titan Matte box. It's great especially in the DSLR CORE PACKAGE but I'm wondering if you can rotate the 2 filters independently from each other? Thanks.
