Does anyone know if the HF10 can go from it's SDcard slot straight to its internal memory? I have the HF100 but wanted to know if the upgrade to the HF10 with it's internal memory will help. If it can go from external to internal during a dump that would be great!!
you want to copy from the sd card to the internal memory? most people want to go the opposite way.
why do you want to do that? maybe to backup the footage in the field? a digital wallet would be cheaper than another camcorder.

I agree with OSV, why you want to do that seems confusing. That said I believe you can do that. But don't go from an hf100 to an hf10, wait and go to the hf20, at least.

No not copy it from the card to memory, but most of the little cams only have one slot so that means if I dump the card I am unable to record for the time it takes me to swap to a new card.
So I was wondering when the card is taken out does the camera switch to internal memory instantly which will in turn mean I lose no time when I switch cards.

Oh I see what you mean. Unfortunately I don't know, I'll try and get my hands on one to try it.
get a bigger card... how long of a continuous recording session do you need to do?

The transfer rate off the camera (internal card or removable card) is slow.
A card reader is much faster.
Why don't you buy a good $20 card reader and some extra cards?
Save your money and upgrade to an hfs or better

Well the thing is the HFs isn't out yet, and it's not the fact of how long the event is but as far as losing a few moments when I dump vs. what the HVX would do (go from slot to slot).
These little cameras only have one slot and I was wondering if it was smart enough to go from external memory to internal.

It's out, just not in the USA yet. One guy on this board already has one and you can buy them grey market off eBay.
