View Full Version : LOSSFEST: How many people still plan on finishing in time?

The LossFest deadline is fast approaching. Will you be finished in time?

I just want to get an idea of how many films I will be watching. I'm sure the "Im in" thread is no longer very accurate.

I'll make the poll private in case those who are waiting to surprise us wish to contribute.

I'm done and all I need is the leader. You people in charge of the leader please give us a update. Can we use the one from last year?

Jack Daniel Stanley

It's the same leader, so yes.

I plan on finishing, but it may be tight. I don't wanna submit it without a score, cause the score will really help.

We still need one more day of shooting, and the actress has a tough schedule to work around.

I'd rather give the composer (Herman) at least a week in advance...Might be shorter though.

I'm gonna try and edit this thing quick enough for the deadline, and we'll do all we can!

Robbie, Herman is much much faster than needing a week's notice for a short film.

Unless he told you otherwise because of his his workload etc. 3 or 4 days should be enough.

EDIT: CHECK WITH HERMAN ...before you assume you need a week, also don't assume I'm right without talking to him.

Thank you Jack.

I'm taking the 5th.

Will Clegg

I'm still on schedule. I have one week to get to picture lock (editing starts today), so that I have one week for sound editing, color grading, and score.

Thank you Jack. There's some kind of server issue, as in where it was previously stored (online) has gone bye bye. That's the reason for the delay.

I'm taking the 5th.

Everyone is. It's a private poll. :)

Although the YES column did jump up 2 notches after you and Will posted.

Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not.

It's very early yet but so far 50% of the intended entries have dropped out. Hope that trend doesn't continue.

too early to tell. oscars steamrolled my lossfest shooting schedule.

If Zak drops out, I'm dropping out. No, scratch that, if Zak drops out, I'm taking my own life.

hey brother, can you spare a scene?

With a 20 min film, are you kidding? I can spare SEVERAL scenes.

I am all but finished, I was momentarily distracted by a possible opportunity to sell this thing. Of course it will have to be watched first which may kill the deal. :(

Either way, I am in!

I have completed Two films for this fest. The second one is more just us experimenting with angles, lighting, set design etc. It's only about 4 minutes long but it's narrative and fits the theme so why not. I graded Hangman and scored it myself. I'm not good at either.

Hmmmm...... 16 possible entries so far.

I finished the fine cut this morning and sent it out for a music score. In the meantime, I will be working on sound design and color grading. I'm sure I will be on-time and fall into accordance to the LossFest rules.

Isn't there usually 30 to 50 entries, or am I way off?

Michael Anthony Horrigan

Isn't there usually 30 to 50 entries, or am I way off?It has been in the upper sixties the last 2 Festivals, I believe.

Over sixty. That's insane compared to the number in your poll.

I noticed that many are dropping out because of production problems; securing crew, actors and equipment. Aren't the entries usually lower after the Christmas season? Or is it this horrible economy we are in?

I expect the number in the poll to climb considerably but it has been unusually quiet around here lately. Guess we'll see...

Pretty much in the same boat here. I will be filming//editing all in one weekend. It is interesting to see how this is going to turn out...

It's gonna be close but I definetly plan on making the deadline. I've got ADR scheduled for monday the 2nd and thursdag the 5th. But everything will be edited, mixed and graded before the weekend is over.
