i noticed this question posted earlier:

I rented a hv20, but didnt get down to logging till today. Is it okay to log using my dvx100b? or do i have to use an hdv camera? Any ideas on what my options are?
_ THE ANSWER WAS, NO. THAT AN HDV CAMERA MUST BE USED.

Am now wondering what the story is with Sony DSR-11 DVCAM.

can i use it to capture HDV from the canon hv30?

as always, thanks

ONLY an HDV camera or deck can be used to capture HDV footage. And, for that matter, only a Sony HDV deck (or Sony or Canon HDV camera) can be used to capture Canon HV20 footage. JVC HDV equipment cannot be used for that purpose.

thanks kindly barry.
it's a lot cheaper to use the hv 30 as a deck rather than buying an hdv deck.

i guess all it means is switching back and forth the wires from dvcam to canon hv 30, depending
on what i'm logging.
again, i appreciate the quick reply.
