Hello all. I apologize for the newbee question, but I thought a community like this would be a good place to look for advice.
We are mostly novices in filming videos for our company's use. We recently purchased a Panasonic P2 HVX205 AP (DVC PRO HD). We also got two 32 GB P2 cards. However, we are wondering what else we need while we are out filming. We plan to have a MacBook Pro with us, but are wondering if taking a small external HD would be the better solution.
Is this in fact what we should do--copy the clips to an external FireWire drive once a card gets full? We've blown most of the budget on the camera and the two cards, so we are trying to keep the cost down. And hard drives are relatively cheap, so that works for us, but I am concerned about the time it would take to "move" the contents of a full card to an external hard drive.
Thanks for any suggestions you all provide.
