Hey guys have yet to see anything like convo scenes on this cam, well anything converted to 24p for 30p,

whats the best workflow for this. edit the video footage, then export, then sort audio out, then back into adobe to sync it up, then export again.

anyone with any ideas/ footage would be great.

What he means is, alot of people are converting the 30p clips to 24p before importing them into an editing program to be edited.
Of course then all corresponding audio (recorded via cam or external device) is out of sync.

It would make more sense to me to edit everything first in a 30p timeline, syncing audio, soundfx and music; then exporting the completed project to be converted to 24p and the completed stereo audio track (music, dialouge etc) to be pitched down a bit to fit a 24p timeline.

Obviously, we could pitch all the dialouge separately but that seems a little more time consuming ;pitching every single dialouge line (including those we may not even end up using in the edit! lol) to fit a 30p before hand.

I personally prefer the first method but it means we might end up exporting, importing then exporting again, which may mean we fall into the trap of compressing twice. Which seems equally stupid.

cutting out frames is throwing away bitrate... try to shoot it at the framerate you want to deliver it at.

if that can't be done, those alternatives sound ugly >ack!<

The Canon 5d mk11 shoots at 30p only. Did you get lost and wonder into the wrong thread?
